Corporate Pensions
We offer a range of advice and services to both the professional intermediary and employer in the employee benefits and staff pension scheme area.
Group Occupational Pensions
Our aim is to provide an outstanding level of service and advice backed by a competitive and realistic fee structure. Our portfolio consists of over 70 group occupational pension schemes that we have managed for a number of years, gaining valuable expertise in:
- Fully bespoke, self-administered defined contribution pension schemes, typically for employees ranging from as few as 10 members.
- Advising on and administering defined benefit schemes. We are fully conversant with the complexities involved in winding up such schemes.
- Providing consultancy advice on group personal pension and stakeholder plans.
- Advising on and administering insured group risk benefit schemes including life assurance and spouse's benefits, long-term disability and private medical care.

The IPS Corporate SIPP
The Product
The IPS Corporate SIPP is a group personal pension for company employees designed to compete with a standard insurance company arrangement. Our product partners with Discretionary Fund Managers who will offer the fund management services.
The services of an Independent Financial Adviser are required to provide the advice to both the employer and their employees.
The IPS Corporate SIPP is charged on a flat fee basis with fund management charges and adviser's remuneration payable in addition. It is available for groups of 20 members or more.
The Marketplace
There are three factors that will lead to the development of the corporate SIPP market over the coming years:
- The FSA's Retail Distribution Review - this will spell an end to the high levels of commissions that have been paid traditionally by insurance companies to IFAs for Group Personal Pension business.
- The advent of personal accounts under the Government's proposed National Pension and Saving Scheme will force employers to consider the pension provision they make available for their staff. A Corporate SIPP product will therefore become a popular alternative.
- Due to the volatility and performance of investment markets there is still an increasing appetite for alternative retirement savings options.
We believe that the market which is suitable for the corporate SIPP will be the second tier, whereby directors and senior management have individual SIPPs with bespoke portfolios, the second tier of management has a corporate SIPP with DFM options, and the third tier, representing the remaining staff, will have access to a Group Personal Pension, stakeholder pension or personal accounts.
